BANNER UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER PHOENIX STEREOTAXIS CATH LAB #7

Banner University Medical Center needed to add another CATH Lab; however, there was not enough space available at the time. The LSW design team got creative with locating the three necessary rooms. The equipment room was located on the first floor below the CATH Lab and control room which were on the second floor. Careful coordination ensured infrastructure was provided for all the connections on the vendor’s equipment.
The CATH Lab included the installation of the Stereotaxis Genesis system, its first installment in the United States, and the second worldwide. This system utilizes robotic navigation to provide added precision for cardiac procedures. The electrical system for this unit was incredibly complex with more than normal connection points for the robotic system, imaging, and surgical components. The LSW team used extreme caution to provide adequate space and ensure pathways were installed for each component. A new flywheel UPS system was also installed as a part of this project to provide additional redundancy for the imaging department.
