UNDISCLOSED UTILITY COMMAND CENTER

BGg-01.jpg

Renovations were needed for an existing telecommunications facility.

LSW designed a new customer care center, power generation and transmission control room, and a power distribution control room along with associated support spaces. The mechanical system included a new 1,050-ton water-cooled central plant. The critical areas of the building were provided with underfloor air distribution systems utilizing redundant rooftop-mounted air handlers.

The electrical systems included a new redundant (2N) electrical distribution system that was designed to allow for concurrent maintainability and a 2MW standby generator with closed-transition transfer capability. The critical areas of the building were provided with redundant UPS power to workstations, control center monitor walls, and associated information technology equipment. Additionally new lighting and fire alarm systems were designed.

The technology systems included new Category 6 cabling to workstations, buildup of three IDF rooms, fiber optic and copper backbone cabling from central service points to each IDF room, and security/access control rough-in.
